A breath of fresh air is blowing over the Android startup logo, which is starting to change on several devices.

Android: a new logo appears when starting certain smartphones

Things are moving on the Android side, which is starting to deploy new logos when certain phones start up. Not all brands are in the same boat.

Everyone has their own Android logo.

When we start our Google Pixel 8, we currently see the Google logo appear, then a sober “Powered by Android” with the head of the droid “The Bot” next to it, in a very sober white. But as our colleagues at 9to5Google spotted, the little droid is starting to take on different appearances depending on the device.

The redesign of the Android logo began in 2019, but the latter underwent some adjustments in June 2023, then in September of the same year. This resulted in a 3D mascot named "The Bot,"  which now appears at the bottom of the start screen under the label "Powered by Android." Where it gets interesting is that this logo isn't exactly the same across devices.

Thus, it appears in a 3D aspect on the Honor Magic 6 Pro but is much flatter on the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. The size is also much larger on the latter. We also note that he is positioned at the very bottom of the screen, as if his head were sticking out. It is difficult for the moment to explain these changes and any logic in the deployment to the extent that more recent smartphones like the OnePlus 12 and the Nothing Phone (2a) do not yet seem to benefit from them.

In addition to our Pixel 8, we tried on the very recent Asus Zenfone 11 Ultra, and the latter simply does not display an Android logo at startup. Don't hesitate to take the test at home and share with us what you see or don't see on a droid.
